His eyes.
Not only for their mahogany shade but– because Byakuya can detect their genuineness, and perhaps that just comes from knowing Aizen back to when he was an ‘innocent’, and the look in his eyes then– but even with all that’s happened over the rolling centuries: the look in Aizen’s eyes for Byakuya has not changed. it may for a moment become hostile, but it’s quickly dismissed– and if not dismissed, than overruled by something deeper and greater.
His voice.
Because Byakuya loved Sousuke far before he ever put his hands on him. It may have changed, and it may be familiar to others, or new to some– the voice has never changed to Byakuya. because he does not remember truly being without it. Byakuya wouldn’t even notice it deepen, or scarcely notice– because he was with Sousuke so often and thought of Sousuke so often, he was never far away enough to notice the change.
The shade of his skin.
Despite all the rage that the nobility finds with the less fortunate, for all the attitude and the anxiety that comes from a world obsessed with beauty– Kuchiki Byakuya was able to find something he loved in an otherwise ugly existence. it reminds him of just how different they are.
His shoulders.
Because for all the power they wrought and hold, in Aizen’s body as a whole, that force has never been used to harm Byakuya in anyway. and he loves to trace the outline of his bearskin from one shoulder, along the collar, to the next– because it’s nearing the neck, and it shows how Sousuke trusts him enough to let him be so close.
And lastly:
How Aizen, whom believes the idea of love to be a submission to humanity and cowardice, surrenders himself enough to admit his love for Byakuya. He never 'professes it’ he 'admits it’ and usually begrudgingly. In all honesty, Byakuya finds it somewhat unnerving at certain points– to know that he, and only he, was entrusted with the heart of such an angry and arrogant individual. and even if Aizen were to say 'i love you’ a thousand times, he would never be truly convinced that he could ever really have Aizen all too himself. he would still know that if it came down to it, Aizen would sacrifice everything to fulfill his ambitions. But at the same time, the agony of that reality is one of the main components to Byakuya knowing the depth of his own love. it hurts; therefore it’s real.
