outof. sometimes i think about exploring an AU wherein byakuya could be a villain. but it’d be practically equivalent to WW in the injustice universe and i feel strange about stripping away byakuya’s morality.
byakuya has undergone exercises since his youth to embrace battle as a form of art, and he himself a moving work of art upon that canvas– further with the noble house’s overall philosophy of stoicism, giving into one’s passions would be considered barbaric and immoral. however, at the end of his skirmish with tsukishima, byakuya comes to acknowledge the thrill of indulging in one’s more primal instincts. i do find it interesting how byakuya’s zanpakutou in itself is quite barbaric, though it is hidden under the illusion of swift death and sakura mask.
it’s not a question of if byakuya would kill; byakuya does kill, but out of duty not for the enjoyment of it. and when he does, he does not feel the need to further dishonor the enemy.
so exploring an AU wherein byakuya not only doesn’t think twice about execution, but rather enjoys it… intrigues me to say the least. but i’m sure kubo would slap me for tangling with byakuya’s pure motif.
